Can I really buy a casket online? Will my funeral home accept it?

Yes! Buying online has never been easier. Choose the product you want, submit the order with your details and we will deliver to the funeral home of your choice. Under FTC law, the funeral homes have to accept your caskets and cannot burden you for buying elsewhere. This means they cannot force you to be present for the delivery or charge extra fees for sourcing your casket from 3rd party sellers.

Do I need to be present at the funeral home when the casket is delivered?

Though you can if you want to, you are not required to be present when the casket is delivered to the funeral home. Funeral homes requiring the customer to be present for a casket delivery would be in violation of Section 453.4(b)(1) of the FTC Funeral Rule, as that would put an unreasonable burden on customer choice.

If you arranged to have the casket delivered to your home or residential address, then you will need to be present to accept the delivery.

How do I place my order?

Step-by-step instructions:

  • While on the page of the product you want, click on the Add to cart button.
  • Click on your Shopping Cart icon at the top right hand corner of our website once you have a product in the cart.
  • On the right side of the cart, you will see some fields where you can enter the following information. This information will help us coordinate your delivery with the funeral home:
  • Name of funeral home (if applicable)
  • First and last name of the deceased
  • Funeral home number (if applicable)
  • Funeral Date or required delivery date.
  • There is also a comment section for you to enter any additional information you would like us to know about your order. We may reach out to you by phone about your order if we have any questions or need more details.
  • Click on the gold “check out” button OR one of the alternative electronic payment options
  • For Shipping address, please enter the funeral home or other location you wish us to deliver. Please confirm the delivery address and timing. Once an order has shipped, IronOak cannot guarantee that changes can be made to the delivery location or delivery date.
